SEIZE THE MEANS OF COMPUTATION
HyphaPDX is an anti-fascist grassroots organization focused on fighting surveillance capitalism by empowering people to make their technology work for them, not the other way around.
This involves creating decentralized infrastructure across Portland, strengthening digital resilience and literacy, and building connections between existing activist orgs. We accomplish this through skillsharing events, publishing documentation and guides, collective resource pooling/distribution, and generally doing our part to inform the public about the importance of digital sovereignty at an accessible level.
Hypha is the latin term for the individual cells of a mycelium network. Similarly, we strive to organize horizontally in composting surveillance capitalism into a more equitable digital environment.

May Meshcore 101 Workshop

We will cover the basics of what mesh radio is, how to set up a Meshcore device, how to operate it,
and other mesh radio fundamentals. Whether you are a complete beginner or an expert who can teach others,
this will be a great event to get hands on in building a communication network for the people!
It is recommended that you bring a Meshcore/Meshtastic device, although it is not required.

At our first meeting we will discuss mesh communications, private data storage, and digital sovereignty in the modern political era,
followed by a lunch social. By the end of the meeting you will walk away with more knowledge about our current digital climate,
steps you can take to build your part of the mesh network, and hopefully some new friends to learn alongside!
All skill levels are encouraged to join! Our goal is to build connections between community members, and survey local needs/capabilities
in order to inform our actions moving forward.
We ask that attendees where masks while indoors. We are requiring registration for this event at the request of the meeting space facilitators.
This is necessary in order to maintain the security of the space which serves the migrant community, and also due to limited capacity. We will be
checking names at the door, please fill out the registration form with whatever info you feel comfortable using. If you have any issues with the
